I think the author of this piece (one AlexW) actually thought he was helping to make the internet a nicer place but in its amazing partisan attacks on Marxists (anyone who doesn't share the author's extreme views - note the dismissive aside about global warming) and its insulting reference to drivel it's clear that it is motivated by a desire to be an internet cop. Personal attacks do ensue he writes. The queer impersonal grammar is clearly designed to disguise the fact that often it's him who's doing the attacking.

Did it ever occur to you that the deleted post have NOTHING to do with Slovakia? I think your boat landed here by mistake. Slovensko is a site for the promotion of Slovakia, to provide information about SLOVAKIA, and to help people traveling here. It is not a site for spewing silly drivel. (Speaking for myself, not an official of Slovensko)
The Internet is full of thousands of political, general interest forums, and blogs where the Marxist, anti American, anti, or pro anything crowd can feel at home. I participate in other forums where I DO talk politics, the man made global warming swindle, and numerous other topics. This forum is not the place for that.
Having been a member here for over 5 years, I have seen the Pommie fool(Pommie is a colloqial term for one clown that has posted under many names), his many clones, and other rude disruptors come and go. It has always been a problem. Personal attacks do ensue. Witness the vile Pommie attacks on Estika. Left unfettered for over a month, the site deteriorates rapidly. Last year it got so bad that the General Discussion forum was deleted.
If you want to talk about Slovakia, I am sure it would be welcomed. Otherwise, I think you should load your boat with lemons, a Marxist crew, and sail off to another port. There are so many sites where you could feel right at home.
Well, I am not going to give advice and information and do free translations to promote the talking shop of some right wing fantasists. And so goodbye to the last public Slovak forum site that I used. I'm sure there are interesting mailing lists out there, maybe some decent blogs but it looks like a lonely old Internet for me for a while. Oh well, at least I don't have to waste my energyplaying to someone else's agenda.
I think I'll open up the comments here again and see what we get. Can anyonerecommend a good Slovakia-related discussion site where I don't have to pretendthat it's some Shangri-la beyond politics and the rest of the world?

This came up when I Googled blogs about Slovakia, and is one of only a few in English. Based on this comment, is it correct to say you are the slovensko.com poster rogerh?
Don't know if I am yet all that tired of the ride on slovensko.com, although the maddening self-rightous persistence of burik does get quite tiresome. It seems to me that burik and mutsky are just, as they say, opposite sides of the same coin. If Jolly Roger did leave, I would quie miss his attempts to lighten things up. Then one may assume slovensko.com's Troll still lurks under the bridge... maybe you've got the right idea.

I'm not tired of reading slovensko.com and of course I was so vain as to sneak back and see if anyone responded to the huffy response I left to AlexW there. Needless to say, it was erased by this morning and the unstained tourist brochure was restored in all its bland glory.
What I am tired of doing is working there for a site that is designed to promote views I don't and won't support.
My jolly namesake was a bit to whacky for my tastes but utterly harmless and only a Marxist in the most diseased imagination.

I've only read a little bit, so far, rogerh. You are really into Slovak stuff! I see you've got a companion site called Roger is . . . I might enjoy that one more. I do like Slovakia, which ought to be pretty obvious now, I guess. But not to the extent that you do! Wow!
I noticed when I got back home last night that some threads were again removed, including the post where I said that I thought it was none of my business what the owner wants to do. It would sort of be like me coming here and telling you what you can or cannot write about, or complaining if you delete some comments. Hey, it's your blog!
Mr. Jolly a Marxist is a hoot! (Too many exclamation marks, I see.) I don't have that acute eye for figuring how very quickly when we're being put on and when the poster is serious. There are blatant attempts to goad others into a fight, don't you think? That's seems mutsky's forte. I don't think mutsky believes most of what he writes, he's just after a response of a certain kind.
The scary thing is that I am sure burik actually believes his rant. There aren't all that many burik types in America, but the problem is, the kind of people burik represents have been leading America into the trash bin of world opinion for the past 6 or 7 years, so it *appears* his number is bigger.
AlexW, the hall monitor, probably thinks I'm a Marxist because I think too many Americans promote a culture of violence and the country has a brutal, deadly love affair with guns. Odd, since Marxism has been spread around more by the gun than any other tool.
As you can see, I can be wordy. Sorry to clog your space. I have to go back to real work anyway. But later I'll read more of Roger is and also here.
By the way, are those letters that have to be typed to post the comment case sensitive?

Firstly, I should point out I am the owner of the Slovak Sun website .
Your comment about Slovensko.com would ring true, if what you said was correct . ie The site being all about Slovakia . Clearly the site is censored to contain just ‘good news ‘ about Slovakia .
The left ‘unfettered attacks’ as you called them, where all in response to Slovensko.com allowing and encouraging threats and blackmail attempts of me by Estika. These were aided by her admirers, sad gang of friends, that seems to include you . Her previous unwarranted interference in my personal life and libelous and slanderous comments caused a major disruption to my wife’s family Whilst I know of the woman , I have never met Estika and never want to and she will be dealt with by the full force of the Slovak law . If she ever felt uncomfortable at any of the facts I disclosed about her AFTER her threats and attacks , then she has only herself to blame and I am unapologetic. .
I can only assume that the reason you feel Roger you have some axe to grind, is based on the fact that the Slovak Sun , did not massage your own ego enough . There were several in the team willing to let you continue to post your articles , but none thought they were very original. Some thought they were actually rather boring and that sadly, you never really had any chance of a career outside of what you do now .
After taking full ownership of the Slovak Sun , I closed the forums in early November , because of the constant abuse of Sun Moderators by several Slovak readers , who feel they only want to see good news on the website . You will note almost no one posts on the Slovak Spectator website and that is free of trolls and offers any contributor a firewall of comment safety So you make your own judgments on what works and what does not. I have now appointed a new Web Editor this month and he will recruit his own team to develop the site.
The fool 'Poomie' character you mention, is in fact several different people , NOT just one person with several names . It is however interesting watch the same few sad people get evermore bitter and twisted and rant on Slovensko.com threads , if someone takes on the role and script , or has it thrust upon them, because they dare be different from the local sheep herd .
It is not for me to tell someone how to run their own website, but it does help if there are clear rules, a balanced view of comments made by NON Slovaks on Forum Moderation . Do not allow little cliché or self appointed policeman gang up to run the forums. Never comply with demands for action, because some controversial topic may just upset some poor sensitive soul or Slovakia's international reputation . ( I Joke )

I used to enjoy reading you Blog, even it was a bit self indulgent and you were prone to the weekly fit of egotistical drivel and pique shaking moment . I also thought it was sad that you got jealous of me ( or the bob –lancet person ) and the attention I attracted . That is why you really fire walled your comments section , to protect your baby from virus whatever, if the truth be known .
What I don’t understand is why it took you so long to’ get it ‘ regarding Slovensko.com., Either that, or you really are one of those wimpy people that lets other people do the dirty work for you . ( as it appears we were correct regarding S’ko long ago )
You then spend thread after thread complaining that they-we are spoiling your words of wisdom, by a Poomie type protesting the site is censored and only driven by tourist guide hosts or neo fascists , whilst you stand there complaining your socialist pearls of wisdom were being removed . Hands and fence sitting being your real problem. As BJ said, you do sometimes have to break a few eggs as quiet protest is just futile on such matters.
Mind you I do wonder if people like Alex W and Estika are so daft to take themselves and the internet, and a website quite so seriously . Such puffed up self importance only leads to huge falls, as was shown in the case of the menopausal woman .

But I don't see any special reason why I should care to fight. I mean what's the benefit for me of embarrassing and insulting people that you have decided are your enemies and driving them off the internet (as opposed to, say, ignoring them)
Hey , lets get it right Peter Perfect. I never wanted or expected an apology , just an acknowledgement you were acting the daft pratt and the Slovensko.com tourist guide was always a complete fraud, with their open comment rubbish policy .
I can only suspect that the Slovak Sun when it came to life destroyed that nice little income revenue stream of Mr Sedvey the owner, and any Iraqi comment his handout of some American NGO ,like Pontis. He then set up a huge abuse party, to try and shut the Sun place down . I understand the Sun will be back and has the added protection ( and investment ) of my pals at SBS ..So if you hear of horse’s heads in Vlado’s or Miro’s beds , you will know why .
Choosing not to fight is of course bourgeois thinking …Rather like attending a protest rally, but covering you face with a mask, just in case the police photo you as a future MR Nasty. Always better to think you are an activist , rather than be one and stay under the radar.

I don't think you - we - made the slightest dint in slovensko.com with slovaksun. Did any of the genealogy, travel and language advice people ever come over from Slovensko? That's where the money is. No one but me was trying to link to the place in a positive way. Your idea of marketing was to go on a forum and start a fight! Most of the people who read about SK are old, placid and conservative. I doubt they were impressed.
If we got any activity at all it was precisely from those battlers like Burik or Karl Naylor coming in and debating. And you rewarded him (Burik) by trying to humiliate him with your clever googling skillz.
I was initially playing in those "fight spam with spam" fights with the SDC and TSS posse but it became clear to me that there was no way to shame them into stopping. You could conceivably destroy each other but never win.
This SBS stuff is just sick blackmail. I want nothing to do with it. Even if it wins 9which I doubt), it will make a sick, closed, dirty internet.
I would be interested in a Slovak Sun, maybe protected by registration, where ideas got debated but I don't really see that being on the horizon.

As for Burik , he is not constructive or useful on any website. I agree with most of what has been said against Slovensko.coma . When I joined up , I received three emails warning me of the obsessive community there , with a 'black book' on each gatekeeper member and their attacking policy . I took all this with a pinch of salt ..I'm a big boy been here before on forums etc , I mean you always get your geeks ( ie. na-na-na-na , you can't swear on the forum buffs ) ..But this place is unreal ..I'm amazed I have lasted this long to be truthful ..
What a spiteful and paroniod group mostlt Americans it would appear and what a nasty little shit that Alex Wilson is ..to be honest I am stating to enjoy winding them all up, they just deserve all they get .
I know it is not constructive to those that would like to chat about subjects on the threads , but then the topics as you say are are censored and taylored to tourist guide needs .
